Getting Them Home
Late one evening, Haile, a nuclear medicine technologist, was driving home from her job at EMMC. She stopped at a gas station across the street from the hospital to fill her tank. She noticed an elderly gentleman who had spent the day in her department having a stress test standing near the sidewalk.
“Mr. Jones what are you doing here?” Haile asked.
“I missed the last bus home.” stated the gentleman.
Without a moment’s hesitation, Haile beckoned to the man. “Get in and I’ll drive you home.” That evening, the caring of EMMC staff extended, once again, beyond the doors of the medical center as the gentleman was brought home safely by his caregiver.
The Moral of the Story:
Deliver excellent service (even after hours)
Do unto others as you would have them do unto you...
